Here is our range of vintage Ladybird books from series which began between 1970 to 1979. Up until 1971 the books were published by Wills & Hepworth who then changed their name to Ladybird Books.

Great Artists Series 701 A small series of three titles which examines the life and work of some of the world’s greatest artists. The series is dates from 1970. Learning with Mother Series 702 There were 7 books in this series which dates from 1970. The books were designed for the under fives and the first 5 books are all quite collectible due to their wonderful illustrations by Harry Wingfield, one of Ladybird’s more popular artists. Picture Books Series 704 Ladybird Series 704 Picture Books which were designed to stimulate a child's natural developement and growth of intelligence. Scouts And Guides Series 706 A four-book series looking at the Scout and Guide movement. It looked at the activities involved, and the achievement that could be gained. Cowboys and Indians Series 707 A small series of 4 titles dating from 1970. Three of the titles are about cowboys and indians and the fourth about Pirates. Great Scientists Series 708 A very small series of three titles which considering the number of famous scientists there have been is quite surprising. Conservation Series 727 Green and conservation issues have been important topics for a long time. This crusading series of 10 titles dates from 1972. How To Do It Series 731 Another small series of just two titles - Metalwork and Woodwork. It dates from 1973 Stars Ladybird Series 733 There is only one title in this Ladybird series dating from 1973. Talkabout Series 735 Ladybird Talkabout books are a great way for children to express their thoughts and feelings by talking about the world around them. This original series 735 is from 1973 and consisted of 12 books. The series has been re-issued and new titles introduced over the years. Leaders Series 737 These were non-fiction reading books designed to stimulate young readers. There were interesting subjects tackled in this series like sounds, bridges, deserts and seals and whales. The series dates from 1973. Children's Classics Series 740 Ladybird Classics. The Series 740 dates from 1974. The Series was divided into four parts - Fables and Legends, Tales of King Arthur, Robin Hood Adventures and Ladybird Childrens Classics. Garden Gang Series 797 A series of books which were entirely written and illustrated by Jayne Fisher, ladybird's youngest author who was only 9 at the time. Read it Yourself (Ladybird Series 777) Read it Yourself is a Ladybird Series of graded storybooks, carefully designed to help children get used to the most frequently used Key Words in the English language.
